THIS IS NOT AN AIR CONDITIONER! So many people are mad because its not cooling down their space like an a/c would. It is an evaporative cooler. The way it works is the same way sweat works when you sweat. A minimal amount of water is formed into a mist, which a fan blows across wet filter elements, and in turn gives a nice chilly breeze when its blowing on you. It wont work in your car, get your a/c fixed. It wont cool down a room of any size, get a a/c unit. What it will do it make a hot room feel more comfortable when your in it by giving you a cool breeze. I use it for my bedroom, blowing directly onto me, to keep me comfortable while sleeping. The a/c in the house doesnt make the upstairs cool, so this is the next option....the final option would be to get a a/c unit in my room. Works exactly the way its intended to.

By Whitey

I keep this by my bedside…works wonders for my night time hot flashes! I freeze the filter which makes the air even colder. No complaints for me

By Diane

It really does work. I am enjoying using them. They are on now.

I write this review because I spent a lot of time trying researching these mini swamp coolers. Conclusion is that all are cheaply made but some are better than others. At first I wanted the USB option. So I purchased a DOUHE and a SPANTRON. The Douhe was really pointless. It was quiet, but that was because the fan was extremely weak. Definitely a no. The Spantron had everything going for it (including USB) but its buttons were faulty and unreliable. If they had made it better I would have kept it. I tried the BreezeTec, the 3 fan settings are actually relevant (they offer meaningful gradations). Also it seems to be supported in some fashion with filters etc. Probably the TV campaign made them up their game in this respect. Perhaps I'll find out, down the line, whether that will be useful.

By Troy

In real world this is a great personal cooler, don’t expect to cool down the entire room lol! Great for pointing to direction of your bed:) and of course while playing ggames on your desktop too:) overall this little thing is great works as a charm, I hope they make it rotate from left to right like a stand fan it would be nice feautre too in the future.

By Jav69

it is exactly what I expected, function as what is descrived on TV ad. The shipping was quick too

By Amazon Customer

I like all about it

By Genesis

The people giving this bad ratings obviously aren’t very intelligent or just never payed attention in school. This is NOT an air conditioner, nor is it supposed to be. This little device is very impressive for what it does. As the water in the mist and filter evaporate it takes some of the heat out of the area, basically like a small humidifier, and does a surprisingly good job of it! The light on the top is very nice if you want a small light in a room or just to look neat. And adding ice in the water tank boosts it quite a bit. The device isn’t supposed to be COLD, just cool, which a lot of people don’t seem to understand.

By Patches

Originally seen it at Wal-Mart. Decided to give it a try. I stay in a small room in my house and it seems to be hotter than the rest of the house despite what I keep the air on. This is perfect for those situations. I personally freeze the filter only sometimes and put a glass of water in the fridge which I refill when I fill the BreezeTec. I then add some ice to the BreezeTec and the cold bottle of water. My room stays around 2-5 degrees cooler when the door is shut. It's not for heavy duty jobs but it will work. Just get a little creative. Dont just use lukewarm tap water.

By Gregory

I am going through menopause so I get hot flashes I'd love this thing I did what it said I put the water in it and I chilled the filter in the freezer and it's kept me really cool during the hot flashes especially at night on my bedside table I would put extra ice cubes in where the water goes and it would keep me cool all night long next summer I'm probably going to buy me a couple of more that way I have some beside me in the living room not just in my bedroom a lot cheaper than air conditioner's and worked just as well they have a very powerful fan which keeps you cool so if you're looking for a little relief from your hot flashes ladies give this thing a try or just if you're in a hot office you will not be sorry

By Margaret

Sitting here at the computer being hot wasn't fun and I didn't see the need to adjust the a/c when I was only going to be home for a short time so I ordered one of these units. It works just great! I can turn it on as easily as a fan, plus adding water and a small piece of ice that I froze in small refrigerator dishes in advance. I keep a bag of the ice slivers on hand and it really does a nice job of blowing cold air right on me. If they go on sale, I'll buy a couple more to give to friends!

By Karen

It's exactly what I was looking for. It releases cold air and is adjustable. It's very easy to use. It's also significantly better than the previous version I bought a few years ago because it doesn't leak water as easily, it's colder, it's more adjustable, and it doesn't break.

By Matt

I'm with the other reviewer that said bad reviews need to stop. I was in bad shape 2 years ago living with family that didn't like to run the AC and we live in AZ plus I'm in that age of hormone imbalance. I was so excited to see this and then read the reviews and continued suffering. Fast forward to 2020 and my AC went out. I have a mini dauchsund and it is really hard on her. I immediately said I don't want to be in this spot ever again I have to buy something. Again I am back looking at these reviews but this time focused on the good ones and thought I will return if I don't like it. To be clear my AC was fixed the next day but I decided to run it a little less cold so that it don't freeze up on me or go out again. I have it at 78 and my room has a lot of windows so it's either hot or cold and 78 is sometimes warm to me especially at night. Well around 3 pm I froze my filter and added ice and water to it. I wouldn't call it freezing but definitely a very cool breeze. I did seem to melt fairly quickly and then it wasn't as cold but in a while I still ended up turning it down from high to low as it was making my throat feel weird. For the night, I filled it up one more time with a ton of ice and water to the brim and ran it on high. I began to get cold and turned it down to low. When the Ice melts it does change to what I consider a swamp cooler feel. I can feel the moistness. I ended up turning it off for the night as I was too cold. Sometime in the night I was getting warmer and turned it back on low and ran until morning where I turned it off again. There is no ice and slight amount of water left but I'm very pleased with the help of my BreezeTec. I doubt this would function as an AC but if I'm ever without air I feel this would be a great help until it's back on again. I love it!

I work in a historical building, and even though A/C was put in the building, my office gets hot and muggy. I had seen these before, and thought I would give it a try.
I received it on Saturday, tried it out at home at my computer . . . worked great, almost too great. It is Monday now, and just brought it into work, already can tell this little thing is defiantly worth every cent I spent on it.
This is a personal cooler, not big enough to cool an entire room, so don't get this if you are looking for a room A/C or Swamp Cooler, for that you will have to get something a bit bigger and appropriate.
Pros: 1) Compact
2) Gets really cool (even cooler if you wet and freeze the filter)
3) Affordable (for the comfort level it provides)
Cons: 1) Fast speed on fan can get a little noisy
Hope this helps.

By Todd

This is easy to use, however, I do put ice cubes into the tray with water to help make it cooler while I fall asleep. Even on low, I can hear its fan going, kind of like white noise. I have put the filter in the freezer to give it a boost. It does not cool down my whole room the way I like it, but it does help. I have turned it on high before I went into my room and felt an incredible difference from before without it on. I'll update my review after summer.

By Bahama

I have to admit that when I took this out of the box I thought is this for a doll house?? So little, but when I used it it was great so far, the real test will be when the Texas heat is 100+ and this is in a room that was the garage remodeled into a bedroom. Had a window unit but HOA said nope can't be visible from the street. So we will see. Got pretty chilly last night (May) and had to turn it off. Hopefull

By Ms. Lin

After I purchased the unit I decided to read some reviews as I was still unsure. A lot of the reviews had me nervous I just wasted my money. Especially since I'm in Florida no where near what you call dry air. I have an office that is at the furthest end of my house and we added it on. So I've relied on fans blowing air from the house into my office.
I did read that you're supposed to freeze the filter and I never got around to that part (kid w a new toy) so this is based on just ice water with some ice and I wet the filter with the same ice water. I actually keep a digital Humidity and Temp at my desk that tells me inside and outside humidity and temperature. I'm not going to try and tell you the whole office dropped by degrees or anything but the space I work in dropped by 2 degrees or less and its blowing on me from about 5 feet behind me aimed at my desk which is facing a corner against the wall.
Tonight I will freeze the filter since I didn't have the patience to do that today lol. Overall, it does EXACTLY what it says it does, tho it only lowered the temp by 2 degrees, the feeling of the air was I'd say between 8-15 degrees better on my skin versus a normal fan. Its over all a good buy for the price. Hope this helps.

If you’re looking for a product that cools a whole room, this isn’t for you and it’s not what it’s made for. My father refuses to get air conditioning in his living room but this is perfect for him to keep next to his chair while watching tv or reading the paper. Keeps him so cool, he loves it. We just bought the second one since the first died after 2 summers. What do you expect for the price. We will buy another after this one dies, so worth it!

By Martha

I have a small cottage and when I wanted central air conditioning installed, the contractor stated that he would literally have to re-build my HVAC system, for almost 20k. That was unreasonable. However, he did mention that these little air conditioners might work well in my tiny home. I placed one in the living room and one in the kitchen. Much to my delight, my home was cool and pleasant, even during the hottest summer days. Mind-you, this is NOT central air, but the item did bring the temperature down enough to make my home quite comfortable.

By Dawn

I'm a very hot sleeper. I live in the south, but im from Alaska. I love this little thing. Not only do I soak and freeze the filter, but I also fill it with ice cubes. Works perfect!! Keeps my side of the bedroom nice and cool.

By L. Mix

For the price it’s a bit much, what as seen on tv is ever a good “value” - my biggest complaint is the fact it’s really cheap plastic it isn’t even hard plastic. It’s flimsy and if you dropped it it would be done.
This is NOT an amazing Cooler/fan. It does ok if you freeze the filter otherwise it is not worth it. The fan doesn’t seem very powerful for the noise it puts out. And trust me it IS NOISY.
Good concept product but I wouldn’t buy again. Also- this is Ok for an office, but. Don’t expect it to work alone without another fan or AC for best results

By Jeffrey

I was cautiously optimistic based on reviews. I wanted it for the sleeper oc my semi so I don't have to idle truck all night to keep cool.
I kept filter in my refrigerator til I used unit. I was SHOCKED that it immediately blew INSANELY COLD AIR.
I had to put fan on lowest setting otherwise it was TOO COLD to sleep.
Love product and reordering today.

By Richard

My partner and I are taking a trip back home to California and our Airbnb does not have an A/C unit so we decided to purchase these. This is PERFECT. It is NOT an A/C unit so if you expect it to act as one don’t even bother spending your money. Save it and can an ACTUAL A/C lol. As far as it working for it’s true purpose it blows good cool air.
With basic cold ice water it works great. I tried to filter in the freezer and it gives it an extra kick with some ice water as well. It’s good for the price and fulfills it’s purpose!

By LesbiFam

Love this little air conditioner for use at night. Menopause is cruel but this dandy device keeps my head and face cool all night. I purchased at a discount as " used- in good condition". The box was a mess but the product was brand new in all its original wrapping. Everything was in perfect condition.

By John

This thing comes in super handy. I live in AZ and it's so hot and dry. First night using this was a huge relief from both. The fan doesn't blow very hard but it's enough to have it a few feet away.

By Nvr2mnypets

I actually like this cooler I put the filter in the freezer and tried it after. It blows really cold I use in my 4 by 4 grow tent and keeps it cool in 95 degree weather

By Jreyes92

When I opened this box I thought wow this thing is smaller than I thought and no way is it going to work like it says. Well color me surprised it works great especially if you get the filter wer and put it in the freezwe for a bit. Surprisingly happy with this little cooler.

By romfantasyreader

Awesome product. I purchased this product to help cool my room at bedside. Product works great especially when you soak the filter in cold water and let filter sit in freezer to freeze. Also, I used cold water in machine. The combination of cold frozen filter and cold water provided a very cool breeze from BreezeTec. Recommended product to other family members.

By Telia

Bought for our sons room that is always so hot. He puts an ice cube in periodically and that seems to help. You have to put water in it throughout the day but makes a world of differnce for a small room that needed a descktop AC

By Amazon Customer

I bought this to put on my nightstand while sleeping during the day (I work overnight) and it works great! I freeze the filter (after running it under the faucet) so I instantly have cool air coming out as soon as I turn it on. Stays cool and definitely helps me sleep on hot days.

By Em

When its 90 degrees outside, the AC is out and your child has tow layers of fur… Thank you BreezeTec!

By Pamela

Just got this today! Put the filter in the freezer for 20 minutes and added some water and pulled the filter back in and fired it up! Works really well next to my bed. Will definitely help keep me cool while I sleep during the day after working graveyards! Iwas worried the night light wouldn't turn off but turns off and the fan is not too loud and is soothing.

By Randie

I bought the product for a good friend of mine and he said "I absolutely love it". He uses it every night and it cools for about 8 1/2 to 9 hours each time

By Lee Ann

Even without freezing the filter, I still get pretty cold when using it. My child knocked it off our dresser and I thought it shattered into pieces, but I snapped it back together very easily - so it’s also quite durable!

By Amazon Customer

When the A/C broke in our office it was so warm in there and a fan was OK but still too warm! I purchased this little portable unit and it sure helped! I froze the piece that goes inside I also used small ice packs to supplement the larger piece. I used chilled distilled water only and pointed the unit toward me and it kept me cool enough during that miserable period at work.

By Amazon Customer

Its obviously not going to fill a whole room or operate as well as an actual air conditioner might but if you keep air flow with om 5 feet of area you are trying to cool down it works great. The air is already cool when you use it but if you want it really cold what i have done is soaked the filter for 5 to 10 min in water then freeze it, once frozen take it out run it under water very quickly one last time then put it in the Artic. Also instead of adding water only to the tank add crushed ice. This gets it really cold and you actually would think its AC if it were bigger. I will always add crushed ice its best way to do it in my opinion. You can also add some essential oil to filter heads if you wand added bonus of great calming smell...add mint and the air actually feels even colder. Its not too loud either you definitely can hear it but no more than a normal fan and after a while it just becomes white noise. My only con would be the night light. I was kinda hoping it was brighter and led looking like the last version of the product which I never owned but have seen other people use. This light is in the water tank so its not nearly as bright but good enough if your not looking for an actual lamp like light but just some small luminous appeal.

By Taylor

Within seconds my husbands office was markedly cooler and within five minutes I had goosebumps. HUGE difference for a room, like an office.
I do have to say it seems pretty flimsy (just cheap thin plastic) (and the drawer to replace the filter seems especially lightweight), and the replacement filters aren’t cheap ($25 for 2, which you’re supposed to replace every 2-3 months) so it loses a star
But in terms of effectiveness for the need we have, this little machine is pretty amazing!

By Kate B

You have to understand that this is not built like an AC that you put in your window. That has a refrigerant coolant whereas this one uses water and airflow to blow colder air. This is a 'swamp cooler' and works better the less humid it is. 50% humidity today, and it works fine. I haven't froze the filter or added ice or anything, but I'm sure that would improve a lot. Also I wouldn't call the air cold, but cool. The water from the filter doesn't fully soak the filter though (especially the far ends), so run water over it if you want the full effect but it works without doing that.
This product gets too much bad review because people expect a compressed window AC. Unless you have 10, you won't chill a room but one is perfect for a personal cooling breeze.

By Pop

I live in an arid environment, so evaporative coolers work really really well in my area. This cooler sits on my desk in my office. My office faces the sun most of the day and gets pretty warm. Having this little desk cooler makes my life much more enjoyable while working. It's the pandemic and I'm now working from home full-time which makes this cooler a real lifesaver.
Pros: Small, cheap, easy to use
Cons: Fan is a bit loud, can spill if knocked, doesn't saturate the moisture pads well.
The system works by dripping water into a pan at the bottom. The moisture pads (shammy type material) soak up the water and that is what the air from the fan picks up to cause the cooling effect. Sadly the water pools in the middle of the pan and is only blown towards the center four (4) pads. Granted these are the best pads to have water, but it seems like a waste of the other pads. Maybe multiple water drops would improve the effectiveness of the cooler. I often pull the tray out and add water or soak the pads under the sink for a 'boost'. The instructions suggest this and also suggest freezing the pads to increase their 'chillability'. Adding ice cubes to the reservoir does not create a noticeable effect.
If you like to tinker I would take a look at replacing the fan with a 120mm PC case fan and controller to improve noise and adjustability.

By Stone

Bought this for my desk at work and I will say that it does it's job. The airflow is nice even on low setting, and here's a constant mist on high speed. Please do not expect this to cool an entire room, this thing is about the size of a Nintendo GameCube so it will keep a small desk or sleeping area comfy, that's about it. My advice for getting maximum cooling is to just follow the instructions by first pre-soaking the filter and freezing it for a few hours, and also adding some crushed ice to the water reservoir. And finally, a thought on the fan noise; on high it does blow kinda loud, definitely would not be able to sleep with it on high. Low setting is comfortable enough though.

First off, this is basically a mini evaporative cooler, otherwise known as a swamp cooler. The marketing for it is kind of hyperbolic, claiming to cool down your room and such. It won't. What it will do, if used correctly, is blow cold (or cooler) air on one small area - I recommend pointing it at your face or neck.
The instructions state that it works best when the filter is soaked and then frozen, this is true, although with some caveats. When you pop the frozen filter in and run it, it will blow very cold air onto you, assuming the water you poured in is also cold. However the sponge material in the filter only soaks up so much water, so this doesn't last very long, especially in hotter rooms. It will still blow cool air though, noticeable cooler than a fan would. I have about 3 fans blowing at the same time, it's pretty noticeable. The fan inside this unit isn't nearly as powerful as other desk fans though, it basically looks like a 120mm fan.
Due to the nature of it being a swamp cooler though, it will increase the humidity of the area due to the fact that it cools down the air through evaporation. It's not great if you already live in a very humid area, you're better off just running a regular AC that also doubles as a dehumidifier.
So in conclusion, know what this is for. This is not an AC. ACs remove moisture from the air while running the air over a bunch of coolant tubes. It is a mini swamp cooler with an ice tray. It will not cool your room, or even a closet. It's meant to sit on a desk or a nightstand, and blow cooler air on you directly. For that purpose, it works great. I pair it up with a bigger fan to help out over all cooling.

By Ittimai

Weird how Amazon review has Warmth and Thickness as options to give stars. Guess their algorithm is on crack right now, can't say I blame it. Otherwise, it's 106 heat index in Florida and this little sucker really puts out. If you freeze the filter, you actually do get ac air for a good 30 minutes. Which is impressive for a relatively affordable product vs Florida AC in a patio. My one wish is it needs a longer AC cord and would have been nice to have had a USB option. Otherwise, great alternative to a $400 portable AC for a porch.

By Jas

This product meets my needs. I work in a classroom that is only cooled to 74.5 degrees at the thermostat. So I put this cube right behind my desk area and it is just enough to keep me cool. It could never cool such a large space, and I don’t know how effective it would be in a small room, but it does what I need. I have to refill the water about every 4-5 hours. And the filter I clean about once a month- I think you’re supposed to do it every week.

By Khdeb

Basically it does the job. Works better if the filter is frozen and add ice cubes. I use it every night before I sleep. Its definitely not an A/C. Just a cooler. Meant for 1 person. Recommended to use it when sleeping.

Works good for cooling you off, point directly at body for that, very nearby, good for my hot flashes -- NOT for whole room, works better with filter frozen first- on highest setting, its kinda loud, I use on next level down (middle).

By Rosemary

Smaller than expected but helpful. I'm currently working from home in a room without A/C in ARIZONA! My box fan just wasn't doing it but I set this up right on my desk and it keeps me comfortably cool my whole shift. Glad I got it.

By Sarheaa

Works well

By Robert

For a machine with no refrigerants or coolants it works pretty well. It produces colder air than my fan, and keeps my general area cool. It definitely won’t cool down the whole room so don’t expect it to do that. But on a desk or night stand it will keep you cool enough. It recommends freezing the filter before putting it in for colder air, I haven’t tried that as it’s normal output is good enough for me. I would recommend putting a tray or towel underneath it if it is on a piece of furniture you love, as sometimes water can leak underneath it. I’m happy with my purchase!

By Maddie

Obviously it's not an air conditioner nor did I expect it to cool like one. But if you keep it a few feet away from you, it's a pretty decent BreezeTec, more then a regular room fan would give you. I kind of like it. One thing, I get nowhere near the 10 hours like it states in the description. I get 3 hours at the most on high before its empty. I'm in Las Vegas so I know maybe that's an extreme example because of the heat. But it's not that big of a deal to pour in a cup of water when needed.

By Joez

It only works if it is pointed at you but it works. I have tried a few personal air coolers. This one is my favorite one. I get heat rashes so I keep this as a back up if the air-conditioner is down or run it on a power pack if I sleep in a tent in summer.

By Dandybell

It it works very well for a SMALL cheap evaporative cooler. only cools for about an hour before the mister can't keep up with the fan. 4 stars because it's cheap, and did as expected, just not very long.

By Ben

Pretty goof for a night fan with cool air. My son sleeps with it pointing at his face. He likes it.

By Kyky

Don't expect it cool an entire room or anything, but works decidedly better than just a fan. Not noist at all. Either use ice cibes in the reservoir or freeze the filter for more impressive results.

By Amy

Works ok but not that quiet.

By Svald

This is an awesome personal cooler. I use it at my desk will gaming or working. Use ice water and wet/freeze the filter and its nice cool/cold air. Do not try and use this as an air condiitoner. It is not an air conditioner. The product say AC but it isnt. It is a personal cooler and at that it is great. The only reason I give 4 stars and not 5 is that it is a bit expensive for what it is. Id say 25 or 30 dollars is a ggod price for this.

Decent price and cools the air! Purchased 2 for my daughter's rooms. They are simple to use. We freeze the air filter and fill with ice water. These deliver a nice cool air that keeps their rooms comfortable.

Seems to be good. Should say you have to replace filter periodically when you are buying.

When your AC breaks down this will help you stay rather comfortable specially if using ice cubes

Its as good as I expected it to be. It’s a great source of direct cooling. The air that blows out of it is as cold as the water you put in the tank. Its also better if you put the filter in the freezer before use.

Blows cool air for a few hours when the filter is frozen.
